Altered State Talk: Old McDonald’s Had a Farm – The Politics of Food
Altered State
Address:
Hen & Chicken, 210 North St, Southville, BS3 1JF
Bristol Food Network’s Joy Carey is on a panel for a talk hosted by Altered State in the Hen and Chicken, North St, Southville. Joy joins food and nutrition scientist Johnathan Napier and Yew Tree Farm campaigner Catherine Withers. The host will be Louise Leigh.

The talk will try and envisage a sustainable global supply chain from farm to fork that can enable ethical choices, and consider the changed nature of what we eat and how it is produced, as opposed to what we need to be eating. Finally the panellists will look at the projected cost to society of the diet and obesity crisis that’s coming down the tracks and share ideas to help change the way the world consumes.
With:
Catherine Withers, sustainable Yew Tree Farm campaigner
Prof. Johnathan Napier, food and nutrition scientist
& Joy Carey, author and Bristol Food Network director
Panel will be hosted by comedian Louise Leigh.
